The Mongolian National Film Council successfully participated in 27th International Film Festival

The 27th Busan International Film Festival was held on October 5-14, 2022. The Ministry of Culture of Mongolia, the Mongolian National Film Council, its secretariat, and representatives of studios, productions, and film artists such as Mongolian Content LLC, Filmbridge, C1 TV, and “Shuuder” production participated in the festival. A teacher at the School of Radio Television and Media Arts D. Tsengel (Ph.D.) served as a film festival jury member.

Mongolian National Film Council introduced its activity, the law environment of the Mongolian film industry, and the incentive program, as well as Mongolian films at the Mongolian National Booth of Asian Contents and Film Market, was held on October 8-11, 2022.

1059 companies and 2185 people from the film industry of 48 countries participated in the film market, which is  20% more participants than in 2019, said Daniel Kim, the organizer and head of the festival. Also, 1027 business meetings were successfully organized at the market.

 

Mongolian National Film Council and the Ministry of Culture of Mongolia successfully organized a ‘Mongolian day’ event at the Westin Josun Hotel on the 9th of October. During this event the promotional video of incredible locations of Mongolia, and the incentive program for foreign filmmakers.

 

At this event, representatives of international film artists, studios, and productions such as Asian Film Commissions Network, Blintn platform, Bridgen the Dragon, Regal Entertainment LLC, N.A.P Filmz LLC, Freeway, and more than 50 artists from film industry companies attended as well had effective meetings and discussions about future cooperation of  Mongolian film artists and the way of implementing projects in Mongolia.

Out of 243 films from 71 countries participating in this year’s film festival, the feature film “Sales girl” by “Nomadia Pictures”, Producer T. Nomuunzul, and Director J. Sengedorj was selected for the “A Window on Asian Cinema” competition section of this festival.

During the Asian Film Market, the Chairperson of the Mongolian National Film Council Undral CH, and the head of the Foreign Relations and Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Culture Garid B met with the leaders of the Asian Film Commissions Network, the Korean Film Council, the Busan, Philippines, and Thailand’s  Film Council. During the meeting, they discussed further cooperation in the film industry.
