Tampere Film Festival is the oldest short film festival in the Nordic countries. Its main focus since the 1970s has been to organise national and international short film competitions as well as to provide an international meeting place for film professionals and enthusiasts. Festival “Message to Man” was founded to emphasize the important role of non-feature films in cultural life of the country and allow national documentary filmmakers become more familiar with the world of international cinema. However, with years, the goals of the Festival had broadened and as a result, short fiction and animated films were added to the competition program. Every year the Festival presents over 50 Russian premieres and more than 300 films from around the world are screened in competition and special programs.

The Viennale’s festival program mainly consists of films participating BY INVITATION. The average number of visitors is about 75,000. Traditional cinema venues are Gartenbaukino, Urania, Metro-Kino, Filmmuseum and Stadtkino. At the end of the festival, the Vienna Film Prize is awarded. Transilvania International Film Festival is the first international feature film festival in Romania and one of the most important film festivals in Eastern Europe. It has a competition for 1st and 2nd time directors. The last editions of TIFF have not only been spectacular, but also showcased an extremely generous and diverse offer of films and sensational events. The 2010 edition has broken all the records, with 240 films from 47 countries, screened in the 13 festival locations, attracting over 55.000 spectators during the ten days of the festival.
