MONGOLIA ORGANIZED ‘MONGOLIAN DAY’ EVENT AT THE 28TH BUSAN

INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Mongolia has organized ‘Mongolian Day’ event at Busan International Film Festival. Filmmakers across the globe including representative artists of Mongolia were warmly invited. Consulate of Mongolia in Busan, Ms.Unurzaya.Ts participated and supportively engaged in the event. Calligrapher Mr.Khugjilbayar.S gave performance of Mongolian calligraphy. Mongolian National Film Commission invited filmmakers to possible locations of Mongolia for film shooting and held informative session which emphasized rich history, vibrant culture and traditions of Mongolia to the audiences.

Mongolian artists residing in South Korea participated in the event as well as showed traditional arts such as Altai hymns, flute piece, khoomei, horsehead fiddle, and folk dance. Mongolian tradition and vibrant culture were present to the audience. Within regions of Asia, one of the most significant and A-level festival, Busan International selects around 200 films from over 70 countries and proposes for nominations of 14 sections. At the Busan International Film Festival, ‘If Only I Could Hibernate’ a feature film by film director Zoljargal.P and ‘City of Wind’ feature film by film director Lkhagvadulam.P were officially selected in the ‘A Window on Asian Cinema’ and nominated for awards. In this section, 30 artworks produced by 16 countries were chosen.
