THE MONGOLIAN NATIONAL FILM COUNCIL WILL ORGANIZE “CASUAL CINEMA WORKSHOP 2024 IN MONGOLIA”

The Mongolian National Film Council will organize “Casual Cinema Workshop 2024 in Mongolia” with the support of DNC Dankook University New Cinema Institute of South Korea.

There are many stereotypes about filmmaking, the most common being that a film must require a large production budget, an extensive workforce, and sophisticated equipment. However, the more we adhere to these stereotypes, the more disconnected we become from true cinematic inspiration. We must break away from these conventions and find creative ways to freely tell small, personal stories through Casual Cinema.

Workshop schedule

6 days: Monday – Saturday (August 26-31)

10:00-18:00: 6 hours of lectures and workshops daily

Location:

Meeting room, 4^th floor at Ayud Tower, Olimp 5, 1 khoroo, Sukhbaatar district

Short filmmaking:

Day 1: Introduction, lectures, reference film screening, and unit formation
Day 2-3: Pre-production – story development using characters and locations
Day 4: Production – shooting
Day 5: Post-production – editing, basic sound mixing & color grading
Day 6: Screening and evaluation

Requirements:

Graduate student who studying cinematography or a young artist who has worked on film within the last 3 years.
Submit a list of previously attended courses, programs, competitions, and independently created or participated works.
Can be a team player.
Be able to fully participate in the training period of the Casual Cinema Workshop
