The organization has a film storage , music and sound database. The collection includes more than 500 documentaries, music and sound recordings.
The Mongolian Film Consolidation-State Owned Enterprise was established in 1935 by Resolution No. 32 of the Council of Ministers. It was founded as the Film Production Center under the State Film and Film Committee.The Mongolian Film Consolidation-State Owned Enterprise is one of the oldest arts and cultural organizations in Mongolia and has been operating continuously for 85 years. During this time it has made 200 feature films, more than 1,000 documentaries and 638 film translations.
Since Mongolia’s transition to a free market economy in the 1990s the Mongolian film industry has been restructured seven times, and decisions have been made to separate, dissolve, and merge the organization’s operations and responsibilities. In 1997, Government Resolution No. 74 merged the Documentary Film Studio, the Children and Youth Cinema, the Children’s Film Studio, and the Mongolfilm Entertainment Center, which were operating independently, and established the Mongolian Film Consolidation-State Owned Enterprise
