It was founded as the Film Production Center under the State Film and Film Committee. The Mongolian Film Consolidation-State Owned Enterprise is one of the oldest arts and cultural organizations in Mongolia and has been operating continuously for 85 years. During this time it has made 200 feature films, more than 1,000 documentaries and 638 film translations.
