MONGOLIAN ACTOR WINS “BEST NEWCOMER” AT
THE ASIAN FILM AWARDS 2024
The Asian Film Awards, rightfully regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in the Asian film industry, took place 10th of March, 2024. For the first time, a Mongolian feature film “City of Wind” by director Lkhagvadulam.P, has been nominated. What is more, Tergel Bold-Erdene, lead actor in the feature film “City of Wind” was selected as “Best New Comer” nomination.
The 17th edition of the Asian Film Awards was held in Hong Kong. Director Lkhagvadulam Purev-Ochir was nominated in the “Best New Director” category while lead actor Tergel.B was nominated in the “Best New Comer” category.
Lkhagvadulam.P’s debut full-length feature film is titled “City of Wind”. A portion of this film was funded by the Mongolian Film Fund, which is administered by the Ministy of Culture and the Mongolian National Film Council. This film’s lead actor Tergel.B was selected in the “Orizonti” section of the 80th Venice International Film Festival and won the “Best Actor” award.
Yesterday also was the 19th Osaka Asian International Film Festival, where the feature film “City of Wind” took home the Grand Prix prize.
