The 2021 popular Korean series was shot in Mongolia. Yoon Se-ri and Ri Jeong Hyeok embark on a journey to Pyongyang by train. The pivotal scene where the two characters ended up spending the night in a field took place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

• LONG WAY ROUND

A documentary series about a global motorcycle trip, 2004-2010, starring ewan Mcgregor and Charley Boorman, shot in Ulan Bator city. It was broadcast in the UK on Sky TV.

• BIG GAMES- IN SEARCH OF THREE TREASURES-(2021)

Synopsis: Good friends accidentally enter a mysterious dream world full of fairytales when they set out in search of three gems to unravel the mystery of Zolboo. Directed by Bolortsetseg Dugardondov.

• BLUE DESTINY

Synopsis: Mongolia in the 1960s. An old herdswoman lives alone in her yurt in the great Gobi Desert. When visitors from the national registration office come to collect information from her for the census, they sarcastically call the elderly woman “pretty lady”, questioning her about her identity, but she divulges little. However, when one of the officers stays the night to count her livestock, she opens up to him with a dramatic tale of love, sacrifice and motherhood. Directed by Altantuya Tumurbaatar.

• TRIO (2022)

Synopsis: Jam has Down syndrome. His sister was adopted when their mother passed away and a monk helped Jam to perform the ritual of open-air burial and put a mark on the mother’s body upon her reincarnation. Later on, Jam is overwhelmed to see his mother’s mark on his niece’s hand.

• BLISS BRINGER

Synopsis: Deep in the Khangai Mountains, there were two tribes that herded yaks for generations. They weren’t bitter enemies but they still wouldn’t share pastures or live close to each other. One tribe is called Blacks, and the other Brights, according to their yak colours. They meet just once a year when they celebrate Naadam, a ritual where they see whose bulls are stronger. The cast includes Suvd Namsrai, Dashpeljee Adilbish, Zamilan Bolor-Erdene, Altangerel Ganbold and Munkhtumur Dondov.

• THE SALES GIRL (2022)

Synopsis: The story is about the adventures of Katya, a former ballet dancer and owner of a sex shop, and Saruul, a shy and humble student who studies a profession she doesn’t like, to please her parents. At the request of a classmate, Saruul has to stand in for her job for a month, where she will be sales girl in the sex shop. There she meets Katya and begins a new life, in which she tries to find herself with the help of her new friend.
