The capital of Selenge Province is Sukhbaatar. This province, the birthplace of the People’s Revolution of 1921, was established in 1934 and is located in the Orkhon and Selenge basins in northern Mongolia. Sukhbaatar is a major railway and road hub and one of the most important border crossings in Mongolia.
