The Cannes International Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres including documentaries from around the world. It is the world’s most prestigious and publicized film festival. It’s held annually (usually in May) at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. Given massive media exposure, the non-public festival is attended by many movie stars and is a popular venue for film producers to launch their new films and attempt to sell their works to the distributors who come from all over the globe.

The Festival Secretariat, a division of Farabi Cinema Foundation, is in charge of planning, organizing and staging Fajr International Film Festival. Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in February every year, on the anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Fajr International Film Festival is the most important film event in the country and presents not only the cream of the local cinematic productions, but also offers a representative selection of films from all over the world.
