LOCATION: IHTAMIR DISTRICT, ARKHANGAI PROVINCE

Taikhar stone is an 18 meter high granite cliff located in Ikhtamir District, Arkhangai province. It can be found 22 kilometers from Tsetserleg city, on the bank of the North Tamir river. There are more than 150 inscriptions on the Taikhar stone written in many languages and scripts. These include Mongolian, Chinese, Uyghur, Sogdian and Tibetan. The rock is located 424 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar.
