Protected areaSTONE MONUMENT IN KHORGIIN VALLEY

LOCATION: DARIGANGA DISTRICT, SUKHBAATAR PROVINCE

NOTE 45 kilometers from the center of Dariganga District, Sukhbaatar Province, is a narrow valley called Khurgiin Khundii. This was the location of seven human-shaped grave-stones. Six of these stones were made of volcanic gray rock, but one located to the south-west of the others was made from coarse-grained granite. These stones were made by Mongols of the 13th and 14th centuries. Two are now located in a museum in Sukhbaatar Province.
