LOCATION: MUNKHKHAIRKHAN SOUM, KHOVD PROVINCE, MONGOLIA

Munkhkhairkhan is the second-highest mountain at  4,362 meters above sea level. This mountain has an ice cap and glacier that covers an area of 200 meters square. Munkhkhairkhan National Park became state protected area in 2006. It is one of the 4 largest areas where snow leopard, ibex, altai snowcock, daurian partridge, manul, marten, beaver, wolf, otter and amphibian relites live together.
