Unesco World Heritage SitesLITTLE OIGOR ROCK DRAWINGS

LOCATION: ULAANKHUS DISTRICT, BAYAN-ULGII PROVINCE

NOTE Numerous petroglyphs are located in the Baga Oigor and Tsagaan Salaa river basins in Ulaankhus District, Bayan-Ulgii province. Between 1995 and 2000 a joint Mongolian-American-Russian petroglyphs research team worked in the Tsagaan Salaa and Baga Oigor river valleys, which originate in the eastern ranges of the Altai Tavan Bogd mountains. Tens of thousands of designs are concentrated in this site, and date back to the early Bronze and Iron Ages.
