LOCATION: ZAVKHAN, NARANBULAG, TSAGAANKHAIRKHAN, MALCHIN AND KHYARGAS DISTRICTS, UVS PROVINCE
NOTE Khyargas lake is located in western Mongolia’s Great Lakes depression, which lies in the southern part of the Khan Khukh mountain range. The surface area of the lake is 1,407 square kilometers. Its longest part measures 75 kilometers, the width is 31 km and the average width is 19 km. The lake’s surface lies at 1,028 meters above sea level. Khyargas lake is located in a tectonic depression which means that its shoreline has many sections. It is located 1,011 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar.
