LOCATION: TSENKHERMANDAL DISTRICT, KHENTII PROVINCE

Khar Zurkhnii Khukh Nuur is a lake in Tsenkhermandal District, Khentii Province. It is positioned on the slopes of Burkhan Khaldun mountain, southeast of Baga Buurl. Khar Zurkhnii Khukh Nuur, which is 1,615 meters above sea level, is located at the source of the Yudeg River and the Byaruut oasis. Two other large and small lakes are found on the slopes of Khar Zurkh mountain, a heart-shaped mountain with trees behind it. The area around the lake is swampy, and this wet environment is rich with larch, birch, aspen and willow trees. Ecologically it has the characteristics of a forest-taiga zone. It is located 153 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar.
