LOCATION: KHENTII PROVINCE, MONGOLIA
Khan Khentii Mountain Range is a strictly protected area located in Khentii, Tov, Selenge province. This range includes sacred Burkhan Khaldun Mountain that is the native land of Genghis Khan and contains many important historical and cultural sites. Asralt Khairkhan is the highest summit of the Khan Khentii Mountains Range, is having an elevation of 2,799 meters above sea level. Khan Khentii is a forested wilderness area – it was formed from Central Asia’s and Siberian forest, and situated under uniquie, natural and climatic conditions.
Khan Khentii Mountain National Park is one of the Mongolian Natural and historic treasures, declared by UNESCO as a world heritage site.
