Oyu Tolgoi has been operating in the open pit since production began in 2013, and in February 2015, the amount of concentrate produced reached one million tons. The company is a copper and gold mine located in the South Gobi, 550 km from Ulaanbaatar, and is one of the largest and highest quality copper deposits in the world.
