LOCATION: ULAAMGOM DISTRICT UVS PROVINCE
NOTE Chandmani mountain is located 1,110 meters above sea level and to the southeast of Ulaangom city, Uvs Province. During the early Mongolian Iron Age (seventh to third centuries BCE) the area was the site of human settlement and activity. Archaeological research here has revealed one hundred and twenty human skeletons. Some of these have been dated to the Iron Age, others to the even earlier Bronze Age. Aside from being of archaeological significance, Chandmani mountain is the location of mineral springs rich in hydrocarbonate sulfate, magnesium and calcium. It is located 1,059 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar.
