LOCATION: BIGER, TSOGT AND KHALIUN DISTRICTS, GOBI-ALTAI PROVINCE

Burkhan Buudai mountain has received special state protection since 1996. The highest peak of Burkhan Buudai mountain is 3,765 meters above sea level, and is covered with ‘eternal snow’ that remains on the mountain all year round. The mountain’s ridges and valleys are covered with depressions and other geological features that are traces of ancient glaciation. It is located 845 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar.
