LOCATION: BAYANLIG DISTRICT, BAYANKHONGOR PROVINCE

Ikh Bichigt valley in the Bayangiin mountain range is the location of numerous remarkable rock paintings. The area forms a natural gallery containing images produced by ancient people living here several thousand years ago. The art found in Ikh Bichigt valley is a priceless collection of cultural heritage. Of particular interest is an image of a man plowing a field. This painting is believed to date back to the third millennium BCE, based on evidence that inhabitants of the area used livestock carts and practiced agriculture during this period. It is located 599 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar.
