LOCATION: UMNUDELGER DISTRICT, KHENTII PROVINCE
NOTE: The Bereeven monastery, founded in 1784 during the reign of Prince Van Gombojav, originated from two temples, the Yellow and the White. The Great Tsogchin Temple was founded in the 1810s. The monastery was the dominant center of the eastern region of Khalkha Mongolia, and 8,000 monks lived there during its prime. It is located 217 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar.
