LOCATION: DARIGANGA DISTRICT, SUKHBAATAR PROVINCE

Altan Ovoo or Dari Ovoo, a symbol of Mongolian masculinity, is located in Sukhbaatar Province, on the northern edge of Moltsog Els. This is near the center of Dariganga District, which is 180 kilometers away from the provincial capital. Altan Ovoo is an extinct volcano at an altitude of 1,354 meters above sea level. The volcanic cone has retained its shape and is covered with many volcanic boulders. It is located 605 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar.
