Ciclic
Ciclic
Based on the principle of the world cinemas support and pursuing the goal of strengthening the regional production and encouraging diversity in films, Ciclic has defined a support for the development of international film projects that include representatives of our regional production.
This funding is intended to support the development of feature film projects (longer than 60 minutes) aimed to be theatrically released for the first time. The objective of the funding (not only limited to the first and second films) is to support a project that respects the following three criteria:
- be co-developed by a production company established outside France;
- be directed by a foreign country national;
- be in association with a production company that has a permanent address in the Centre-Val de Loire region (this condition is mandatory at the time of payment of the funding).
The support amount is fixed according to the budget of each project and may not exceed €40,000.
The support application must be submitted by a feature film production company established on the regional territory and holding a memo deal, a co-development agreement or a co-production agreement with a foreign production company. A contract specifying the terms of partnership with a production company established outside France would be required in all cases for the establishment of the agreement between the production company established in France and Ciclic.
Baumi Script Development Award
Baumi Script Development Award for the development of outstanding cinematic stories is targeted at German and international screenwriters who can apply with a treatment written in English. To be eligible for the Award, applicants must submit with a production company or must already have had at least one of their scripts filmed.
Applications are for feature films only (no documentaries, television formats or short-movies). You can apply with one project only. The BSDA gives financial support of 20.000 Euro for script development once a year. The prize money has to be used for further development of the script based on the treatment submitted. The award ceremony will be held at the upcoming Berlinale as part of the NRW Film Commission Press Lunch.
Asian Cinema Fund
Asian Cinema Fund
Asian Cinema Fund is an initiative that aims to encourage creative, talented Asian filmmakers and to help them to complete their projects.
Through its three categories – Script Development Fund, Post-Production Fund and Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund – the Asian Cinema Fund is committed to helping activate more independent film productions and to set up a stable production environment. In line with this main goal, further opportunity for Asian filmmakers will be provided with the newly launched Overseas Korean Project Support (effective from 2010) and Documentary Distribution support.
The Script Development Fund is organized to assist Asian filmmakers in the completion of their scripts. Through this fund scheme, selected projects will be awarded 10 million Korean won (app. 10.000 USD) each.
The Post-Production Fund selects high quality projects ready for post-production and provides a chance to complete the post-production process at state-of-the-art facilities in Korea. This fund covers DI, sound mixing, English subtitle spotting and a D-Cinema package.
The Asian Network of Documentary (AND) Fund is a loose coalition of film festival organizers committed to supporting the production and distribution of Asian documentaries. Its members collaborate to build and strengthen the network among Asian documentary filmmakers, while the administration and oversight of AND are being managed by BIFF.
During the Busan International Film Festival, AND holds various programs, including the AND Clinics and one-on-one meeting. AND programs introduce useful knowledge to Asian filmmakers to polish up their projects, enhance the practical skills, and broaden insights into documentary markets. AND also organizes several showcases to present films that were completed with the support of AND funds. In cooperation with international documentary film festivals, AND expands their opportunity and seeks new distribution networks for documentary films.
The Asian Cinema Fund helps Asian films and documentaries establish their identities and to position themselves as important parts of the film industry. During the Busan International Film Festival, the Asian Cinema Fund provides a forum for Asian filmmakers to share their knowledge, leading to a pan-Asian network. Also in cooperation with other international film festivals, the Asian Cinema Fund broadens opportunities to present high quality Asian films and documentaries around the world.
